About Me

Hello, I’ve lived in Hamworthy for the past 25 years. I’m a retired IT professional/trained financial advisor, previously working with a large household name insurance company in London, happily relocating to beautiful Poole in 1997.

I’ve had a lifelong interest in local politics and have been an elected Councillor twice. Firstly in the late 80’s, serving two terms for the London Borough of Bexley, for  Northumberland Heath ward. Bexley being a large Unitary Council of Greater London.

Elected to serve again in Poole in 2003 for Merley and Bearwood ward, on Borough of Poole Unitary Council.

Since retirement I’ve served as secretary/treasurer for ‘Poole Sea Cadets’, achieving a substantial extension and refurbishment whilst reorganising the finances in keeping with relevant fiscal requirements. I’m a Trustee for ‘The Old Rope Walk’ alms-houses in Hamworthy, presently working to build 6 brand new homes, my 12 years planning knowledge, whilst serving as a Cllr and as a director of ‘Poole Housing Partnership’ put to good use! Drawing all this experience together, I now act as secretary and election agent for ‘Poole Engage Party”.

After more than 50 years working in local politics , I feel that all the mainstream parties have lost their way.  No party actually working for their residents, more interested in individual political doctrine for their own political advancement, blind to the need of their residents.  This is what makes ‘Poole Engage’ different, we’re committed totally to actually listening to our residents, acting on what we’re told, tangibly representing resident’s views, getting back to the nitty gritty of what politics must be about, to serve our residents and not ignore them!

I’m delighted to be part of ‘Poole Engage’, as a fresh new choice for all residents, happily using my skillsets gleaned over many decades to do all possible to advise and support this exciting new venture.
